Allora ... last night I was guest on the Story U Radio Show/Podcast of my dear friend and Coach Debby Handrich, brava !! It was a fantastic experience !
Our episode was about Romancing Life ... something you may hear more about from me, including the link to the episode, when available. We had so much fun together for that hour that I couldn’t go to sleep afterward. We pre-recorded the episode at 12noon her time in Seattle, 9pm my time here in Gubbio, Italy.
Publishing one of my poems for the first time came from that episode’s inspiration, find it here.
This poem, kairos, goes along with that poem about Littleness, and is also about my little precious goddaughter Renata. One day we were playing with blocks and she told me it’s a 3! on one block. I told her that she was going to be 3, and to say that surprisingly startled me!
This poem, which has never seen the published page until now, helps to explain why.
I hope you love it as much as I do.
kairos
it is said
that we live in
chronos time
and that we yearn for
kairos time
chronos keeps
a clock
a watch
an age
for all people places things
schedules
meeting points
starting points
end zones
all starts and finishes
just
lots of keeping track
of lots of stuff
kairos keeps
none of the above
so time is only
only
the precious
present moment
is that why
when I said
you’ll be 3
and I meant
chronos time
i was quite startled
what happened there
i wondered
until i remembered that
we live in kairos
you and me
other than naptime
and bedtime
our time is ours
and no wordly time really exists
unless we say so
i am ageless
when i’m with you
you are ageless
when you’re with me
remember
all of our littleness goes away
maybe all of our bigness goes away too
maybe, really
neither one of us will be 3
