The Day is the Answer

One of my very favorite spiritual teachers told a story of how powerful it is, to ask the Universe (whomever you call your Source) to handle your day for you.

Someone asked her, Well then what happens?

Her response ~ The day is the answer.

Now then. I do start each and every morning, with a prayer that thanks my angels in advance for handling my day for me. Normally, and especially when I travel, I really have no idea how each day will ultimately unfold, and that is really OK with me. I’m never disappointed.

Last month shortly after I arrived in France, my French family designated Sunday, 21 July, as Diane Day! A huge party at the country home of Renata’s grandparents was hosted in my honor.

Renata and I had taken a train in the morning to arrive, and she’d about popped out of her skin with excitement!  At the party, we dined outside, it rained a bit then the sun shone brightly, I had lots of opportunity to speak French and be corrected (LOL), children of all ages enjoyed the swimming pool, and it was SUCH a fantastic day.

That evening, I intended to take the train back to La Rochelle - solo, to the heartbreak of Renata. It turned out, I’d mistakenly bought my ticket for the next day.

Suddenly, all of Renata’s wildest dreams came true!!!

I was invited to stay at the family’s little beach house (near her home), and her parents let her stay the night with me. For me, having not the forward thinking to pack toiletries, etc, just in case, this meant sleeping in my contact lenses (the worst part). Fortunately, I have great hair that wakes up not terribly missing a brush or comb so, yay for that.

The weather the next morning was cool and I had an extra shirt to wear. Renata and I walked down the street to have the best pastries for breakfast (+ great coffee for me!), then we had time to play our favorite card games.

I arrived safely for my train on that correct day, and no one even checked my ticket for the right/wrong time.

The point of my story, is that (overnight) day, was my answer. It was far from an upset, it was a series of blessings.

Another typical prayer I say after spending it with Renata, is thank you for another day, perfect as usual.

This day, of course, was no exception.

Finally, oh look ! My gorgeous French family, together for Diane Day!
